Throughout December I took part in a group show at 123 Space, a fantastic new gallery in Stokes Croft, Bristol. I didn't get a chance to write at the time however I wanted to say a little about it. The gallery is run by volunteers from LoveBristol and a percentage of all sales went to this not for profit to develop the gallery and the pop up bakery run in the same building.
There was a great selection of artists showing work, the lead artist was Barry Lewis. Barry creates fantastic sculptures from found, second hand and scrap metal objects. He creatively and skilfully turns anything from silver spoons to bike parts in to stunning works of art, see the picture featured of a beautiful bird made from silver cutlery. Also taking part was fantastic children's illustrator Jesse Hodgson whose beautiful seal illustration was one of the first pictures to sell. I would like to thank LoveBristol for inviting me to take part and congratulate all the artists that took part in this successful first exhibition. LoveBristol hope to have more shows in 2015 which I look forward to letting you know about. The gallery can be found at 123 Cheltenham Road, Stokes Croft, Bristol. It is at the crossroads of Cheltenham Road, Ashley Road and Nine Tree Hill.
